No selfishness allowed! Earn your audience attention through content that matters for both you and them.
When it comes to online marketing, there are two ways in which it can be done: through inbound marketing or through outbound marketing. The differences between the two of them are very well outlined, but let’s start with the first one.
I like calling inbound marketing as the online media you earn by working out hard. No need to run to the gym, but training your muscles at the keyboard is a must!
In the fewest words possible, inbound marketing is the promotion of a company through online content marketing that aims to attract and engage the audience.
So what kind of content marketing should a company use for the online promotion? All kind of content! Here is a list of all types of actions that crosses my mind for doing inbound marketing:
- Blogging and video blogging
- Word of mouth and viral marketing
- Social media marketing and optimisation
- Online public relations
- Releasing whitepapers
- Influencer’s outreach
- Q&A sessions
- Search engine optimisation
You are doing inbound marketing if you use one of the above, but using more types of content increases you chances in making your public interact with you and hopefully, becoming a follower.
If you use content marketing properly, the satisfaction you get can be really rewarding. Not only that you get a lot of traffic for your website, but also the social media engagement and PR & blogging engagement are tangible signs that your audience is interested in what you have to offer.
I can’t give you a general advice for what it works better for your online business. You have to try out as many as you can and see what touches your audience. You can only get better if you pay close attention to what your audience responds better to and what kind of content are they requesting frequently.
